Do I need a referral to see an orthodontist?
You can book a consultation directly. No referral from a general dentist is needed.
Am I too old for orthodontic treatment?
No. Healthy teeth move at any age, and a large share of orthodontic patients are adults. Clear aligners are discreet enough to wear through work.
How long will treatment take?
It depends on how far the teeth need to move. Minor corrections can finish in a few months, complex bite work takes longer. You get a projected timeline at your consultation, before you commit to anything.
Do aligners or braces hurt?
You feel pressure for a day or two after each new aligner or adjustment. That pressure is the teeth moving. Most patients describe it as tightness rather than pain.
Will people notice I am wearing aligners?
Clear aligners sit tight against the teeth and are difficult to spot in conversation. You take them out to eat and to brush.
I had braces as a teenager and my teeth moved back. Can that be fixed?
